Do you have a
"Key" Classroom?

Key Classrooms are easily recognized by teachers, administrators, students and parents.

  • Children are the main focus and decisions are based on what is right for children.
  • Curriculum is engaging and rigorous while the relationship between the teacher and children is relaxed and trusting.
  • Children feel safe and do not hesitate to take risks.
  • Mastery is the norm while every possible intervention is exhausted to ensure mastery is obtained.
  • Collaboration between teachers, children and parents is observable in team meetings, sit down one-on-one meetings with children and constant communication with parents.
  • Administrators are welcomed and serve as mentor and coach to "Key" teachers.
